As if we weren't already impressed after the reveal of the 2015 Jeep Cherokee, now we can look forward to a more ecofriendly version. Everyone is working to make their vehicles smarter, cleaner, and more efficient and Chrysler and the Jeep Brand are no exception.

The 2015 Jeep Cherokee and the Chrysler 200 will receive updates to their engines with Chrysler's Stop-Start system which will come standard. While we're only looking at a 3% fuel economy improvement, and 3% decrease in C02 emissions, everything counts, and if you're a commuter who experiences bumper to bumper traffic you will definitely see some difference.

The Jeep Cherokee will keep its Pentastar V6 engine so there will not be a decrease on power. How the system works is with a high-speed motor that is claimed to start a car in a third of a second, and when it detects the engine coming to a stop the vehicle is turned off. A powerful battery keeps all of the vehicles accessories intact and when the driver steps off the brake the car is started again.

While this technology is not yet available for Jeep brand vehicles, you can take a peek at the vehicles of right now by visiting us at Lithia Chrysler Jeep dodge of Grants Pass, 1421 NE 6th St. Grants Pass, OR 97526.
