Folks, for everything we here at Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Grants Pass love about our new and used cars, nothing tugs at our heartstrings like an automaker who gives back. It's just one of the many reasons we've grown so fond of RAM over the years, because the philanthropy just never seems to stop.
For more than 60 years now, the brass at RAM have been doing their part to support the Future Farmers of America (FFA). For example, many of you probably saw their "Farmer" commercial that aired during this year's Super Bowl. Not only was it a moving celebration of the contributions that farmers have made and continue to make to this fine country, but it wasn't just lip service either. After the commercial aired, RAM wound up donating $1 million to the FFA.
Adding to that, RAM has also been awarding financial academic scholarships to the students of the FFA for the past 29 years now. Altogether, they've donated more than $600,000 to the cause, including those that were granted to students earlier this week.
This year, more than 6,000 FFA students applied for RAM scholarships that were ultimately given out to 80 individuals. 76 were local scholarships worth $1,000, while the other four were national scholarships valued at $2,500 for students looking to pursue a post-secondary education.
Oh yes, whether it's the FFA or the 2013 RAM 1500, there's an awful lot to proud of with an automaker like this. And if you'd like to learn more about the models on our lineup here in Grants Pass, OR, the experts in our car parts department would be happy to fill you in. Until then, do the right thing and thank a farmer.
