The 2013 New York Auto Show is going on now, and the Jeep brand brought a very special new vehicle to the event. The 2014 Jeep Cherokee may have the name of a previous model, but it's certainly got a futuristic style. And, though it doesn't look anything like a high-performance off-road SUV, it is.

The Jeep brands hopes the new, unique design will appeal to a large range of rivers and help the brand gain market share. Mark Allen, head of design for the Jeep brand, explains, "It's a real different direction for Jeep. It is a much more modern look than I think people were expecting, but that's OK. It's aimed right at the heart of the hottest SUV market, the mid-size segment."1

The new Cherokee replaces the outgoing Jeep Liberty, and it looks much more like today's crossover than its boxy original nameplate model in the 1980s, which means it's truly a design risk for the brand.

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee comes with a nine-speed transmission, which helps it achieve fuel economy ratings of 31 mpg on the highway-much higher than the clunky Jeep Liberty.

Of course, there's much more to find out and love about the new Jeep Cherokee, so be sure to stay tuned here with Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Grants Pass, conveniently located at 1421 NE 6th ST Grants Pass, OR 97526.
